Now I don't know much about house frames, but I would imagine that a continuous m8 threaded rod with a washer and nut at both ends would be more durable.
 
It is probably good, but unnecessarily expensive in my opinion.

Yes, that's probably true. I think if this one goes in easier and then gets better durability, I'm okay with spending a little extra, in moments I'm only going to do once and can't access to change, if it's such a small part of the total cost. But it's surely like casting pearls before swine. :)
 
If I wanted the best screw, I would choose SPAX; at Profss magasinet, 6*130 costs well under 500kr.
