I wonder if there is any standard on how to handle butt joints on ceiling drywall, do you use noggings between the butt joints?

Our builder has only installed longitudinal battens in the ceiling at 30 cm centers, but I'm wondering if there shouldn't be noggings between the short drywall joints? Or?

There are some gaps of 5-10mm where my painter thought it was odd that there were no noggings there, it's going to be difficult to plaster and joint compound if there isn't anything behind it, he said. I wonder if I can claim that there should be to my builder?

Grateful for an answer...

If you have single-layer plasterboard, you should have a small block in the short joint. Double-layer plasterboard usually doesn't require a block.

There are only full large single plasterboard sheets in the ceiling ..

Then it's a concern, it must be kortlas otherwise it will never hold....
