Hi,
I am going to tear up the carpet in my living room. Can anyone tell if it indicates that there is asbestos in the glue or the carpet?

  • Close-up of carpet being removed in living room, revealing adhesive beneath. Inquiry if adhesive or carpet may contain asbestos.
  • Hand peeling back carpet in a corner, revealing yellow adhesive and wooden subfloor, with loose cables nearby.
No, it is not possible to see, either with the naked eye or on an uploaded image. The only way to know for sure is to send it for analysis.

If you provide when the house was built, evt renovated, a guess can be made considering that asbestos was banned in stages from 77 to the early 80s…..

If the asbestos is bound in an adhesive, it is not a problem at all.
