Hello everyone,

I wonder if someone can help me interpret the blueprint of my apartment.
I'm considering whether the highlighted wall is load-bearing (the section marked in red)?

There was previously a double glass door in the opening, but now I would like to open up more between the kitchen and the living room.

Best regards, H

  • Floor plan showing a marked wall in red between kitchen and living room, indicating a potential load-bearing wall.
  • Opening between living room and kitchen with red-marked wall potentially load-bearing, previously had double glass doors, question on structural changes.
  • Floor plan of an apartment highlighting a red-marked wall between the kitchen and living room, questioning if it's load-bearing for renovation purposes.
Can't say for sure just from a picture and the drawing, but the wall looks quite thick, so there's a pretty good chance it's load-bearing. To be sure, it's probably best to have a structural engineer come and take a look.

If the ceiling and floor are concrete and the wall is wood, it is not load-bearing otherwise it can't be determined from a picture + drawing
