I am in the process of renovating a 1-story Älvsbyhus from '65 and two walls are going to be removed. I've asked around a bit and received different answers. Everything from needing to properly support the roof trusses with posts in the corners to that no intervention is needed.

Floor plan of a single-story house from 1965 showing walls marked 1 and 2 for potential removal during renovation, with room dimensions given.
Technical drawing of a 1965 Älvsbyhus wall section, showing construction details with measurements and materials used for renovation guidance.
Attic interior of a 1965 Älvsbyhus under renovation, showing wooden trusses, scattered boards, and a partially unfinished floor. Attic of a 1965 Älvsbyhus with visible wooden beams and roof trusses, some building materials scattered on the floor.

Wall number 2 is the one I'm pondering over. What do you think? Grateful for your opinions :)

Wall number 2 is no problem to remove. Wall number 1 needs to be replaced with, for example, a glulam beam. In order to assess the appropriate dimension of the beam, more drawings are needed. Preferably a section and some description of how the sloped constructions that partially support the roof beams land.

And I am of the exact same opinion as justusandersson, since for once it was a relatively simple question regarding redistribution and which walls are load-bearing... ;)
(edit; I have the feeling that justus... is significantly more skilled at this)

In theory, the roof trusses might possibly be self-supporting, so wall 1 could be removed. But in practice, you don't use such dimensions to make it self-supporting unless it is necessary.
The relatively low roof pitch also speaks against self-supporting roof trusses.

So no, wall 1 is not removed without redistribution until a deeper investigation has been done, and then one will with 99% certainty conclude that redistribution is needed.

I think it is clear from the pictures that the trusses do not only have support at the ends. 2x6 inch beams also cannot be self-supporting over a 7.85-meter span even if it is an insignificant load.

A redistribution can be done in the attic if you want a smooth ceiling without beams.

Thanks for all the replies! I fully agree with you, a replacement must be done. I'll see if I do it up in the attic or from inside. I'll get back with pictures of the result :)
