A question of appearance that I'm wavering back and forth with...
I've installed tiles above the kitchen sink. On the short side of the sink, the tiles follow the countertop (about 60cm deep) all the way out. Above the tiles are overhead cabinets with a depth of about 35cm.

Should/ought one to extend the tile trim so that it follows the tiles all the way out, or should one finish it at the front edge of the overhead cabinets?

If you end it at the cabinets, you would have to apply a joint compound on the top side of the tiles for the last bit. That could look okay too.

What is recommended?

If I understand correctly, you have a strip under the cabinets that meets the tiles?
Do you have cover panels on the upper cabinets that extend below the bottom of the cabinet? If so, I would choose to end the strip there and then place a small aluminum strip on the outside.
If there's nothing breaking it off, I would let the strip continue.

But as mentioned, it's a matter of taste :)

If you haven't wallpapered yet, do it after you've placed the strip so the wallpaper can be cut against the strip, then you won't end up with a gap between the wall and the strip if the wall isn't completely straight.

Perhaps explained a bit ambiguously, but the tile is installed on the wall along a countertop. Then at the short end of the countertop, against the wall, the tile continues out to the front edge of the countertop. It creates a tiled surface with a 90-degree inner corner. Upper cabinets are screwed in on the long side, so to speak.

I have yet to install the cover strips at the bottom of the cabinets. So I don't need to "notch out" the tile trim for it, I can let the cover strip meet the tile trim if I choose to let it continue all the way. Additionally, the cover strip and tile trim are of the same height. Hmm, leaning towards letting the tile trim go all the way. Can't be more than wrong...
