That answer did not provide a solution to TS's problem, other than information that a post was not to be trusted.

Exactly, you didn't answer the OP's question, but if you know that my answer is wrong, then you surely also know why it's wrong. That information would help the OP.

So you don't think it's normal that if you remove a support point for a beam, so that it, for example, becomes twice as long, then the beam needs to be stronger to handle the same load?

There are so many incorrect answers that providing full explanations every time becomes a lot to write.

That rule is there to regulate a small wall. Therefore, it does not require changing the beam or everything else you claim must be done.

That beam is there to frame a small wall. Thus, it doesn't need to be replaced with a beam or everything else you claim must be done.
Did you not read what I responded to?
Take a look at posts 57 and 58 again.
Tip: It's not about the beam, it's about the substantial column.

Sorry. I'm so used to people routinely quoting entire posts that I automatically filter them out when I read.

Yes, that was a sensible answer to the question.

Yes, for that question it was a reasonable answer.
You also don't seem to have read post 60.

All parts, beam, pillar, small wall, stud, have been in place since the house was built (1985).
If we dare to remove the stud with your and others' input here, is this something that requires a construction notification?
Bonus question, of course, we would ideally also like to get rid of the pillar, what is required for this?
Removing the stud does not require a construction notification. You can also remove the stud attached to the pillar.
Now, I haven't seen any drawings of the house. But, considering the thickness of the beam, I must unfortunately say that it's probably practically impossible to remove the pillar.
The only way, as suggested, would be a stronger beam. But unfortunately, it would become too bulky. It would primarily be terribly expensive. But then it would absolutely not look right.
However, if you have any drawings of the house, and some measurements, it would be possible to give a more definitive answer.
