We are going to build a 1.5-story house with isolec blocks 350 mm. We have already signed a contract with a contractor who now, 2 months later, says they cannot construct the gables under the ridge because it would be too unstable. Instead, they would be built in wood and covered with a sheet of plaster on the outside.
It feels unprofessional to come with this so late. Is this correct?

We have built a 6.5-meter high 1.5 story house in Isoleca. It requires some construction work, but not too extensive. I paid 18,000 SEK for construction drawings. Not so much for the gables, more concerning the long sides. Strong roof trusses brace the gables. Maybe they find it difficult to work from scaffolding with masonry.
