The family is growing, and it's time to convert the upstairs living room into a bedroom (see picture).

Ideally, I would like to do this without damaging the floor and ceiling; attaching to the wall is not a problem.

So now to my question, which I know has come up several times, but the threads I found were several years old, maybe something has changed, new products on the market or so...?

My idea was to tension a stud between the ceiling and floor by hammering in slightly too long studs and thereby keeping it in place. Or will the studs move so much that it won't hold over time?

Tips and opinions are gladly received.

Best regards,
Erik

There are sheet metal studs with "foam rubber" that are well-suited for use against ceilings and floors. They provide a tight fit and offer a better grip than, for example, a wooden stud does against a wooden floor.
