Hi

I have a significantly slanted ceiling on the upper floor where the previous owners have completely removed the storage spaces, so it looks really odd. I want to build a low interior wall behind the bed that will be about 120cm high along one wall.

Do I have to tear off the plaster in the ceiling and so on to be able to properly frame it, or is there another smart way to do it? It won't be insulated anyway as it's already insulated around it and it's not supposed to be load-bearing in any way.

I was thinking that maybe it can be attached to the floor somehow and to the ceiling in the ceiling beams behind the plaster?

Sure, if you build triangular-shaped battens that you glue partly to the existing sloped ceiling and partly with some blobs on the floor, it'll probably hold without any trouble. Then place a batten on the floor between each triangle, it doesn't need to be glued but will act as a base to screw the new plasterboard into. The boards will stabilize everything.

If you're lucky, you might find the studs that the current plasterboard is attached to. Try searching for the screws with a magnet or stud finder.
