Hello,
I am about to start renovating a basement space that will become a bedroom. This inevitably leads to discussions on how to construct and what methods to use. I was in contact with a structural engineer who said to use steel studs with insulation, then plastic, OSB, and gypsum. It is important to have an air gap between the basement wall and the new wall. The floor is intended to be parquet with a floating solution (Platon mat with upturn, etc.).

Now I have talked to other parties who believe it is better to cover the exterior walls with lightweight concrete blocks (like Siporex or Ytong) and possibly use steel studs with foam insulation, OSB, and gypsum on the inner walls (the warm walls). What are your thoughts on this? Regarding the floating "Platon floor," most seem to think this is a good solution. Building in basements is a jungle. The basement wall is uninsulated on the outside (Platon mat and not Isodrän). However, the drainage is good, and the walls are dry. I have never had moisture problems in the basement.
How would you have done it?

Thanks in advance.
