Hello
We are in the process of renovating the sill and floor structure. The foundation is made of stone, and then there are timber joists at about cc60. Now we have reached the stage of rebuilding the floor and have some considerations. The joist is not very thick (about 20cm) and if we were to apply the old technique with planks between the beams, there wouldn't be much insulation. I know there are several solutions, one I've considered is attaching XPS300 boards from underneath and then filling with loose fill insulation between the beams.
Opinions?

Best regards,
Andreas

A bit overkill with xps 300, if the distance between the joists is not too large, cellplast works well, 50 mm provides sufficient support with a margin.
