Planning to insulate the walls in the conservatory, but I have a few beginner questions.
The horizontal studs in the picture are 95 wide with vertical tight outer panel.
I'm thinking of installing 25x25 battens for an air gap, windbreaker, 70 insulation, construction plastic, and vertical inner panel.
How should the battens be installed? Vertical/horizontal? Should I place them at the edges against the studs and then how tight should they be? If horizontal, do they need holes for air passage like if you had a sparse outer panel with batten strips? Do the existing studs need holes for air passage? Should fruit tight foil be used on the inside in the conservatory, or should windbreaker also be placed on the inside?
Grateful for answers!
/Daniel

  • The image shows a section of a covered patio with vertical and horizontal wooden panels, a string of decorative lights, and a "Välkomna" sign.
I am working on a similar project, with roughly the same conditions. However, with standing studs.
I have built an air gap using tensioned mason's string. Then there will be 70mm insulation and paneling directly on.
I have not planned to use any vapor barrier in the walls.
