I have arrived at the step of installing an interior door in a light concrete wall. I have chipped away all the old plaster so I have "bare" light concrete exposed.

What should I do with the plaster against the door frame? I have two options as I see it right now (there might be a couple of other options I don't see, as I am an amateur 😄)

Option 1: plaster against the door frame and install trim. The frame is flush with the finished plastered wall.

Option 2: Install the door frame in the "middle" of the light concrete wall and plaster small "reveals."

Now I thought of a 3rd option myself...

Option 3: Like option 1 but without trim. Will the transition between wood and plaster hold? Without cracking?

How should I do it to make it look nice?

Option 2 probably looks best.

Option 1: plaster against the door frame and mount trim. The frame, thus, in line with the finished plastered wall.

This is how mine looks. This is a door through the old exterior wall (extension)
Maybe it can help you along the way...
