How should I mount the moldings? Since it's MDF, I initially considered pre-drilling/countersinking and screwing them in, but now I'm wondering how to neatly hide the screws? I read that some simply glue the moldings with something like PL400, is that a better solution?

The moldings are therefore profiled (12x95) pre-painted MDF moldings, what is the neatest way to mount them?

Nail gun.

Nail gun, or if you absolutely don't want nail holes, then you'll have to use adhesive, like PL400 or similar.

Nail with brads or use a nail gun. Dab a little latex caulk in each nail hole, wash off with soap and water immediately.
Then dab a little white paint on each nail/hole.
Now the nail heads are only visible if you get really close.

But should one really use dyckert? From what I understand, MDF moldings crack if they are not pre-drilled...

I've probably nailed hundreds of miles with MDF trim and they don't crack. Is it foiled or lacquered MDF?

Hundreds of miles?, wow :)

It all depends on the size of the brad, if you hand nail with a coarse 2mm brad, it can crack if you get close to an edge, but nail gun brads (Ga18) are only about 1mm thick, and I've never had any problems with either pine or MDF cracking as long as you stay more than about 10mm from the edge.

Limma is absolutely outstanding. The latex will become visible after a while.

I completely agree. I use latex where it will be painted over anyway, but trying to "dab on" a few small nail heads covered with latex I don't think will become particularly invisible, so if TS is allergic to nail heads I also recommend glue.

I would recommend PL600 instead, it sticks but doesn't grab like PL400, the advantage is that it is water-based and can be wiped off.
Otherwise, as others have said, the nail gun is the way to go.

How do you glue the casings? I mean, you can't put all four sides at once, do you set the bottom first and support it so it doesn't slide down or how do you do it?
If you do it at work, I don't think you'll get any efficiency out of it, if you have plenty of time it probably works fine.
As I said, I have installed casings on about 8000 windows and doors and have not yet received any complaints about nail heads.

My experience (with montagelim from Byggmax) is that the moldings weigh so little that they don't slide down. Press them in place for 20-30 seconds, and then they stay there.
