Hello!
In connection with an electrician fixing some new wiring in a room that currently has standing raw plank nailed to horizontal battens (outer wall), he thought it was very complicated to run the wiring because you have nothing to attach it to, and if you make grooves, the bottom boards won't have anything to hold onto, so they will wobble and likely cause trouble before the drywall comes.
So, the idea is to tear off all the raw plank and let the wiring be fixed and replace it with OSB board instead. But I've read mixed opinions about OSB needing to be installed with a 2-3mm gap between boards due to movement, is it really that sensitive and won't the drywall crack because of it? Of course, not joint to joint.
