When is it appropriate to install the chimney from the ground floor through the upper floor to the attic/roof?
The upper floor is currently unfinished, i.e. no parquet on the floor + no ceiling drywall.
When is it appropriate to install the chimney, before or after parquet/drywall?

When everything is finished, the floor, the ceiling is painted, it is usually done last in new constructions.....
Just think through exactly where it goes so no electric pipes or similar are in the way, good luck

I assume some sealing should be installed between the chimney (outer metal) and the diff plastic in the roof (towards the attic) or?

Yes, some type of elastic fabric that is taped to the diffusion barrier (if you have one) is usually used. It depends a bit on the type of chimney, of course......

Why would you do it last if you can choose?

I would do it first. It would save me time not having to saw holes in the finished surface.

Would you have installed the chimney first and then plaster and fill afterwards, you mean? There are different ways, but the most convenient for me is to have everything ready and then just make a hole in the finished plaster ceiling and floor if it's between joists and then continue up into the attic...

I partially regret my answer. I've installed a couple of chimneys in recent years, one simple straight, one complicated with diagonal routing and reinforcements.

In both cases, the tricky part was not knowing what was behind the finished surface, not the surface itself. So if you only know what's behind, and maybe it’s also packed with insulation, etc., then it's not a problem to do it afterwards.

See where the intermediate floor is located today, the screws in the floor chipboard + where the trusses are located.
Then measure my way to where holes should be made in the floor/ceiling.
Must also replace the intermediate floor

Thanks for the tips (y)
