Hi, yesterday I went and bought 15 square meters of beadboard, and I started installing it yesterday with a nail gun. But the thing is, the length doesn't cover the whole room, so I have to splice in shorter pieces.

The ceiling joists are not particularly even, and when I spliced a short piece and was about to install the next board, I had a real hell of a time getting it to fit, resulting in a few broken boards, etc. But I managed to get it in eventually. Are there any tips on how to do this smoothly?

The joists are uneven at the beginning but straighten out as I go further into the room, but right now it's a real hell to connect the boards.

Ensure the boards are tongue and groove, but nail only after the next board is in tongue and groove (subsequent nailing)

But how do I keep the boards up then? I can't hold up boards that are 3.7 meters long by myself and nail them afterwards. If I put them in the groove on one side and then try to put them in on the other side, there's a huge risk that it will come loose on the other end, resulting in me breaking the tongue. Can I join 2 boards lengthwise and then nail them up two at a time? But then I'll have the short seam in the same place across the entire ceiling.

You can take a spillbit, läkt, etc. and nail it to the beam further ahead as a holder until the board is mounted. When you reach the attachment, move the board forward.
