I am considering buying a corner aquarium with a total weight of about 1500 kg. Background: The aquarium is triangular-shaped 150x150 cm, and a diagonal of 180 cm. I plan to place the aquarium in a corner on a ground floor with a basement. The floor joists are 195 mm high, and the length between the walls on which the floor joists rest is 200 cm. The width between the floor joists is 60 cm. Directly under the aquarium is a storage space. Since the aquarium is placed above a corner in a storage room with an untreated concrete floor, there is no aesthetic problem placing some type of pillar directly under the aquarium. My question concerns whether and, if so, how to relieve the floor joists and thus prevent any settling?
