An ice block has formed in the drainpipe. I have installed a heating cable, but it doesn't help. I think it is in the pipe bend where it happened. Probably poor insulation under the floor. The house is used as a guest cottage.

Can you access under the floor? If it's a crawl space? In that case, you can try placing a car interior heater under the floor. Just keep an eye on how hot it gets. If it's tight, there's a risk it could get too hot and start a fire.

Happens to me now and then in my mountain cabin. Can't access it from underneath, so I usually mix salt and hot water and fill it up. When it starts to cool, I pump away the cool water with a drill pump. Then a new salt mixture. It takes time, but it works. Otherwise, plumbers usually have real thawing equipment.

I got it up with salt and water! It worked
