How would you attach plasterboard or similar to aerated concrete blocks?
Hello experienced and knowledgeable ones! We have a downstairs area that we want to upgrade from plastered walls to smooth ones with wallpaper. How would you attach drywall or similar material to ultimately get the wallpaper to adhere and look good?
Fill first to make the surface as even as possible?
Glue or plug/screw renovation drywall or normal 13mm?
Thank you very much for the help/input!

Standard plasterboard 13 mm, adhesive and possibly nail plugs. And leave 10 mm of air against the concrete floor. Also, check the surface so that nothing protrudes.
Why do you want to remove the solid plaster/stone feel, take on extra work and cost, and introduce organic material (the cardboard surfaces on the gypsum + the wallpaper) on surfaces where it's not needed?
Taste is subjective, but for me personally, it would feel more like a downgrade than an upgrade.
If there are many damages, one can (after repair and leveling) go over the entire surface with some fine-grade repair mortar/thin plaster to achieve the same texture everywhere. Silicate acid on top of that, and it becomes really exclusive
Or even splurge with microcement, if that feels right (does not in a bathroom
