I am building a pavilion and have used impregnated wood up to the roof. However, for the beams, rafters, and plank sheathing, I have used non-impregnated wood.

The next step is to attach the edge flashing and shingles, but I expect it to take another two weeks before it's complete. Finally, I plan to paint or stain the underside of the roof, which I anticipate doing in the spring.

Now, it has rained quite a bit, so the roof has taken longer than planned, resulting in discoloration. What can and should be done about it?

Rinse it off with a gentle high-pressure alternative brush and dish soap when you are done building. If you then want it easy to clean but untreated, you can varnish it.

Thank you, I will do it. :)
