Hello everyone. I need help with how to build an internal wall for a sliding door. It's mostly a bit more complicated than a regular internal wall. What complicates it further is that it needs to connect to a chimney breast, and the chimney sweep says there must be no combustible materials within 10 cm. This can be debated, but the reason seems good. So how on earth should I solve the construction?
I was thinking of having a vertical stud at the start of the wall, then attaching horizontal 28x70 up to the opening (similar to the sliding door frames you can buy). What steel stud dimensions are available, and should I now have vertical studs instead? But I can't have a sill since the door will run there?
Thanks,
Daniel
