How to seal holes in the roof after roof hood removal
Hello everyone, first post here in 10 years.
I am going to move the kitchen location and relocate the roof vent for the kitchen fan to the new spot.
I plan to lay a piece of roofing felt with silicone/roofing compound and cover it with new tiles (and of course, repair the roof panel).
The roofing felt should be on top of the upper felt, so the slope won't protect when the silicone dries and cracks.
How else do you do it?
There are concrete tiles on the roof, 18-degree slope.

If you have rough planks under the felt, it should be repaired first, then the underlay felt, which you cut into the upper edge, may need some asphalt putty if you don't cut it correctly.B Bablos said:Hi everyone, first post here in 10 years.

Then make sure the battens are good and put on the new tiles.
Done😊
Thank you, that sounds good. It's still the side edges that won't have any overlap when they come out at the bottom edge. Is it just to apply extra asphalt putty? I feel like I can't describe it correctly. So, when I slide the underlay paper down at the top edge, it's a wider paper than the hole, but as I understand it, it needs to come out on top of the bottom edge. Is that correct? And there you can't get any overlap on the sides.Rejäl said:
Yes, the paper you cut into the top edge should be a little wider than the hole, say 200mm on each side. Yes, apply a bit of sealant on the sides between the new and old.B Bablos said:Thanks, that sounds good.
