There is a relatively steep slope on the property leading down to a staircase. If the staircase is not used, it's about a 10-minute detour to take the road, so it is used quite frequently.

It gets very slippery on the slope when the snow falls or when it freezes. Even when the grass is wet from rain.

I solved this over the weekend by laying a ladder on the ground supported against the staircase (see image). It works well and was done very quickly, but it looks very unattractive.

I am looking for a solution idea that:

1. Takes little time (maximum a couple of hours)
2. Is functional
3. Looks OK

I am considering if something can be buried at regular intervals in the ground, but I'm not sure what that could be.

Grateful for tips.

A metal ladder laid on a snowy, muddy slope leading to a wooden staircase, used as a makeshift path to prevent slipping.

Build another section of stairs. Two long pressure-treated beams and then steps screwed in at the right angle.

10-minute walk? pretty empty if so...
