Hello!
I have a marble tabletop that needs to be mounted on a cast iron base.
A round marble tabletop on an ornate cast iron base, set on grass.
The old tabletop (broke during the snow chaos two years ago) was larger and thicker and was screwed in.
Cast iron table base with a rusty round metal plate, standing on grass. The plate has holes for attaching a new marble top.
Help! Now I need to fix this so I have somewhere to put my coffee cup

How would you mount the new marble tabletop?

Glue with PL400.
If you want to be able to remove the board, get a round wooden piece from some thicker glued wood. Glue it onto the stone and screw in the wooden board.

Hello, I have suffered the same fate, the marble tabletop cracked because the table happened to topple over. Where/how did you get hold of a new tabletop?

Thanks! Very good tip with the piece of wood! Then I can take the board inside for winter storage (y)

Sorry to hear it broke :(

I found a bargain on Blocket! A tabletop that belonged to a small side table:

The top is only 40 cm in diameter. The old one was 60. But it works for coffee :)

Thank you, that was a quick reply!

Personally, I would have skipped PL400 and used TEC7, it bonds at least as well and doesn't leave any hard-to-remove residues if you ever need to replace the board.

Read about TEC7 on their website and it seems great! Thanks for the tip!
