I have built around an old patio door and the electrician has been there to install boxes and run flexible conduit. I'm now going to add insulation.

Do I just cut the insulation so it fits around the boxes? Is there any risk of the insulation getting into the boxes and catching fire?

How do you usually handle insulation material and boxes? Just press the insulation behind the box or cut out the insulation around the box?

Insulation is made of either glass or stone, hence the names glass wool and stone wool. Neither of these materials burns very well, so you don't have to worry about them catching fire.

That being said, it is of course important that you cut the insulation as neatly as possible so that it seals well against the sockets to avoid drafts around them. Buy an insulation knife to make it easy to cut the insulation.
