How to install crown molding on a curved ceiling?
Hi! I'm working on fixing up a house where the previous owners "weren't so handy" (sending the diplomatic expression from a friend). It's not really the right time to tear everything down and start over, so I'm just trying to make it reasonable so we can use the room. Anyway, two questions came up regarding this corner:
1. Is there a smart way to measure/draw the curve in the ceiling so I can cut the drywall as neatly as possible to follow the ceiling?
2. When we put up the crown molding on the straight walls, how do we handle the curved ones like this? I've seen that there are flexible moldings, but it's very visible here, so I don't want an ugly plastic strip. Can we put something nicer over it? Paint it to make it invisible?
Grateful for answers at the good enough level

I had driven without a cornice (because I don't have the knowledge to miter a piece that fits there). Make sure to get the plaster tight against the ceiling and seal between the plaster and the ceiling with sealant like Tec-7.
To trace the curve, take a scrap piece of suitable size and draw on it using a spacer against the ceiling. For example, take a piece of molding about 10-15 cm and put a screw in the end. Hold the other end against the ceiling, and with the screw, mark on the scrap piece you've attached.
Then remove the scrap piece and transfer the profile to a full plasterboard sheet.

Thanks! I would like to hide the gap between the plasterboard and the ceiling in the places where it's the largest/ugliest, but if we use filler and then wallpaper anyway, maybe you won't see/think about the joint there after all.

You can get "bent" wooden pieces by placing several wooden strips on top of each other in the desired shape and gluing them together. If you get 2 mm thick wooden strips and attach them around the bend, you can apply glue in between and set them up and wait. Then sand and paint.
