Hi, I plan to glue-screw together a wooden post from two 120x45 (pressure-treated timber). One of the purposes of making my own post instead of buying 95x95 posts is to prevent it from twisting and bending. My question to the forum is how do I proceed in practice? I'm mainly wondering how I should position the 45s against each other (there are three options: 1. cores facing the same direction, 2. cores towards the middle, or 3. cores on the outer edge)? Then comes the question of how close the screws should be (idea: cc 300mm)? And is it enough to place one screw in the middle of the 45s, or should I place pairs of screws next to each other (I guess this surely depends on how you position the cores)?
