This year it was time to replace the 25-28 year old veranda as the material had had its day and it started to sag significantly (turned out to be a few rotten screw beams).
I checked around on the internet a bit to decide on the right dimension for the timber and the best approach, as I've built about ten verandas over the years, but it's good to refresh my knowledge and take in new insights.
One thing that bothered me a lot with the old veranda, which was partly nailed and partly screwed, built and extended in different stages, was the occasionally protruding screws/nails that could hurt feet.
I googled around a bit and found some different systems for concealed screwing, including Essve's system and CAMO. I went with CAMO as it was slightly cheaper and I also interpreted it as having a more durable product (whether right or wrong, that's the impression I got anyway).
I have now completed the project, a 50 sqm veranda, and took the opportunity to make a video to talk about the CAMO system for concealed decking screwing.
You can find the video here, hope it's helpful when you're facing a similar project yourself.
