Hi everyone!
I am currently sitting with a torn-out rec room with (now) bare concrete walls. Previously, painted wood panels and insulation were directly nailed on, resulting in mold.
They are 60s concrete blocks that are quite smooth, and at first, I thought of plastering everything, but it's over 30m2 and I'm not up for it.
Is it okay to tidy up the joints with plaster mortar c and then paint everything with silicate? Perhaps only the outer wall since the other two walls are dry interior walls and can be painted with regular plaster paint?
What is the downside of not plastering first? The day you want to redo it? Can you plaster over the silicate the day you get tired of it?
Thoughts?
