how to cover the big "hole" nicely? ideas?
I have an electrical panel in the living room where the opening is 144cm wide and 160cm high.
The opening starts about 40cm from the floor.
I need to be able to access the electrical panel sometimes, so two surface-mounted doors about 75cm wide would work. But I want to avoid doors - I'd rather the opening be barely noticeable.
Maybe a large painting in two parts on a rail or hinges.
Or make my own door with a board and a thin frame - but it might be difficult to make it light enough.
Anyone have any ideas?

Excuse me, but is it a whole command center you have? The dimensions sound gigantic for a regular house electrical panel.. Maybe it should be possible to streamline and tidy up the panel, and perhaps even place it somewhere else...
Otherwise, with what you have now, maybe some form of narrow bench (sideboard) might be something, perhaps have it placed on wheels ...
