One can use the so-called step formula for rough planning: the tread depth plus two times the riser height should be 60-63 centimeters. An appropriate riser height to start with is around 17 cm. If you choose 18 riser heights, each step becomes 17.8 cm high. The tread depth then becomes 27 cm. With 17 treads, the length of the staircase becomes 459 cm. This usually requires an L-shaped solution to fit.
