Hello,

I am going to cast two basement walls in pure concrete that I am building a mold for. They need to have some electrical boxes embedded in them.

The electrician is using VP2 in other areas. When I asked about embedding boxes, he didn't know anything about it.

Does anyone here know how to do it or have pictures? You don't want to risk the concrete flowing into the box.

Common boxes where a plaster lid is placed and nailed to the inside of the mold, casting of the wall, then it vibrates, and everything must be securely fixed otherwise things will come loose when the vibrator comes near.

Thank you for the response.

How far under the concrete surface must the hose be, are there any regulations?

How much can you plaster after casting? Because if you plaster, the box will be recessed in the wall.

There are also so-called holders for pipes (no hoses now) that meet the standard that a double drywall box has for the pipes. Plastering afterward adds bulk, and then you have to remove the cover and put newspaper in the box, creating a gap into the box, but it doesn't matter, there's nothing flammable there, and no spacer ring (expensive). Alternatively, if there's a lot, you can saw off the outer part of a box to the right measurement needed and use long screws through it into the box in the wall.

Aha, should one use pipes instead of hoses?

Absolutely do not touch the pipe, it will move around when the vibration comes, the pipes are fastened quite tightly with the mounts and are as solid as a rock.

How do you attach the pipes to the box, what kind of attachment do you mean?

How do you attach the box to the mold, through the screw/nail holes in the box?

Nail it backwards onto the mold through the nail mounts

The pipes are just pushed firmly into the bottom of the hole in the box, I can't find the exact mounts for casting for the pipes right now, I haven't been on anything other than residential houses where they've been used, but I have a detective looking into it and will get back, maybe someone else on the forum knows

There it came about the brackets, just as I expected via the forum :D that's good, now I don't need to spend time on it.

You use a box like this
[link] just nail the box to the form, then you can use a hose but it must be approved for casting, same with vp-pipes, there are different types.
What is the nail in the middle for, is that the one you nail into the form?

Do you attach the box with more nails/screws than the one in the middle?

PS: Many thanks for your answers!

You nail it into the mold, yes, that's what's needed, then once it's cast, you remove the lid and twist off the spike in the box.
