We are renovating the bathroom. An elongated story with the door on one short side and the outer wall with a window on the other. The only place it really works to place a bathtub is under the window, and that's where it used to be. Building regulations today advise against windows in wet zone 1, but reluctantly allow it if the bottom edge of the window is at least 1600 mm above the floor. For me, this means going from a fairly square window to a small garage window, but according to Photoshop, it can be fixed aesthetically. The question is just how I fill in the wall where the lower part of the old window was. It's a brick wall, which looks plastered, see the picture below. I think I can manage to brick up the wall, but I would prefer the repair to be invisible. Is it possible, and how do I go about it?
If you can't make it completely similar, it's better to make it completely different, for example by putting a board that you paint in the same color as the frame maybe?
