What is really the best strategy for attaching baseboards to walls constructed with metal studs? Special type of nail? Special type of screw? Or? I've read that you can glue as well...

It's about a renovation and if I remember correctly, it was screwed before, but with rather unsightly screws. Are there suitable screws with small discreet heads and appropriate threading?

many who build with metal studs put a horizontal wooden stud at the bottom to have something to nail into when attaching the baseboard.

otherwise, the most common method seems to be to plug into the drywall and screw them in.
I personally glued my baseboards with construction adhesive. however, it becomes a permanent installation, so if you have plans to change the flooring in the coming years, it's probably better to screw them in,

Many people probably install an OSB/Chipboard/Råspont behind the drywall to make it easier to attach things to the wall, and if you do that, you can nail your moldings into this board.
