Hello!

I've bought a house and will start by tearing down a load-bearing wall.
And replacing it with a laminated beam. On one side I plan to place the beam on a laminated pillar,
but on the other end I intend to notch it into the exterior wall.
So the question is, how do I secure the beam in the notch?

Maybe hinges?

Have approximately the same problem.

Is the house made of lättbetong?

Is it not possible to insert wedges under the beam to transfer the load downward? Laterally, it should be possible to attach it to the stud that the beam is supposed to support. It is possible to use brackets on the top side of the glulam beam..

Yep, the house is made of lättbetong. If you use angle brackets, it becomes difficult to hide them. I hadn't planned to "cover" the beam.

I was thinking of setting the angles by the floor or the roof trusses, then they would be hidden by the ceilings in the different rooms...

The question is whether the lättbetong can handle the load down to the slab or if there is a risk of cracks?

I have a column that stands directly on a Lecawall and the constructor added a 5 mm iron plate to distribute the load on the wall.

Did he place the metal plate under the pillar?
How big was the plate then?

Yep, about twice as large/long as the pillar. In my case, approximately 250*150 * 5 mm on a 150 mm Lecavägg.
