Hi, I'm installing baseboards in the new build.

But in an archway, I have both a 90-degree angle and a slight level difference up to the next room.

How do you miter this in a professional way?

  • A boot rests against a wall with skirting boards, including an angled wooden piece at a 90-degree corner, on a tiled floor.
In the picture, it looks like the white pedestal is not perpendicular to the wall. Remove material at the bottom on the inside so that the miters meet.

Now I see in hindsight that I probably misunderstood the problem.

It only works on inner corners.

In your case, it is a compound angle. The simplest way is to set the saw at 45 degrees and simultaneously tilt the blade at the angle the floor slopes.

Then, it becomes easier for both you and those you ask for help to turn the test piece the right way.
