How should I do behind the list?
Hello!
I'm going to repaint a small room that previously served as a hallway but will now become a small office. I removed the old baseboards and saw that there is some detachment behind them, see pictures. It seems like moisture is seeping up from the slab into the wall. What should I do? Just cover it with a new wooden trim that can breathe out some moisture (or am I completely off?) Or is it better to waterproof it in some way before installing the new trim? I'd prefer to avoid a total renovation, as the office is not likely to be used very often...

It doesn't look like the floor is water-damaged. So why do you think it's due to moisture from underneath?
If it's just old dirt, there shouldn't be any "built-in" moisture problem. If you want to be sure and really know, you should measure if there is moisture in the wall.

I was mostly thinking about how both the plaster and wallpaper have come off at the bottom. However, I can't see any mold, it seems dry. Considering cutting away the bottom part of the wallpaper, chipping off loose plaster (or ignoring this?), and then just covering it with a baseboard..?4774 said:
New picture without as much dirt. 😊

Buy a bag of plaster and smooth it out for best results or just use regular filler to get a smooth surface. Then re-wallpaper that wall and choose any style of baseboard you like. 😀M mpersson74 said:I was mainly thinking about both plaster and wallpaper coming loose at the bottom. Or you get a wider skirting board.
Thanks for all the tips 😜! I have cut away the bottom part of the wallpaper and chipped away loose plaster (old wall). The plan is to repair with new plaster and then add a sufficiently large baseboard (120mm should be enough). I had to cut away a slightly larger part of the wallpaper in one corner, so there will be a bit more work there with repairing, sanding, new woven wallpaper - but it should turn out well.Dowser4711 said:

Nice!
Now it should be a while before it's time for bröstpanel.
