I will eventually replace a window that is approximately 130 cm high and 140 cm wide with one that is 80 x 140 cm. I need, therefore, to raise the bottom edge of the wall by 50 cm. The house has a brick facade.

How should I build the wall?

Bricklaying is obvious.
Then air gap.
Install a bottom beam for securing the new window.
But then???

On this relatively small wall section, can you cut a piece of foam board and seal the edges around with foam sealant?
From the outside, it would then be: brick, air gap, foam board, age-resistant plastic, plywood, and finally drywall.

Or should the wall be constructed differently?
