I am going to replace a load-bearing wall with a glulam beam. I have a good understanding of most things but I'm wondering if the pressure from the columns might be too high on the aerated concrete blocks they will rest on. In the basement, a wall is built of aerated concrete blocks. It is on this wall that the two columns will rest. Do I need to worry about that or can the aerated concrete blocks easily take the load? I am removing about 4 meters of wall and the columns will consist of two glulam beams that are 15×15 cm. The house is from 1946.
