Hello,

We have cast a smaller foundation of about 120x60x10 with a lot of reinforcement for an air/water pump. This was done last Saturday and since then the slab has been covered with construction plastic and watered 2-4 times a day. How long should this continue?

When looking generally at casting slabs, it is said anywhere from 15-30 days, but I suspect that's referring to considerably larger and thicker slabs, like for houses.

Best regards

Again, it has now burned in the initial stage and can be used. It will continue to burn for many years to come as concrete always does.

Okay, so no point in continuing to water and cover it?

No, it has now been a week now and then there is no danger, and it doesn't need to be covered with plastic. Covering is done because when concrete cures, it gets warm and the water evaporates a little too quickly, and larger pieces tend to crack. If you're not going to use it right away, you can place some boards on top and a wooden plate so it gets a bit of airflow underneath, and remove it when VP arrives.
