How is the line load calculated along the gable side of a building with a gable roof
Hello,
Trying to figure out how the line load along the short side of a building with a gable roof is calculated, I would gratefully accept help.
For the long side, I know that half of the roof load is taken up by the wall, in my case:
Roof length: 11 m
Half-roof width (horizontal plane): 3 m
Snow zone: 4
Roof's own weight: 0.3 kN/m2 (metal roof on rough boarding with underlay)
11 x 3 = 33 sqm
33 x 4.3 = 142 kN
71 / 11 = 6.5 kN/m
For the short side, the ridge's pressure also comes into play, but not any roof slope. Perhaps it's not a practical problem to use the same value as for the long side? However, if there's a calculation model for it, it would be nice to know

If you have a truss on the gable, you won't get any load on the gable wall.
If the gable is load-bearing, then the entire gable wall becomes load-bearing, and the load is approximately 2x1.2 meters of the long side plus the roof overhang.
If the gable wall is constructed with the same dimensions as the long side, I see no reason to worry about the gable holding.
