How do you attach a soft expansion plug?
Bought these from Elfa to set up my storage system from the same brand:

But I can't get them to attach properly. The screw never secures but just ends up spinning endlessly. No matter how carefully I screw. It never even gets tight before this happens.
What could I be doing wrong? Or is it just how this type of expander works, that the screw can eventually spin as much as it wants but everything is still stable?

That's exactly how I did it. Used a 10 mm drill. Pushed in the expansion plug. Did not use the longer spacer sleeve. Tightened with a power drill. But as I said, it never tightened properly. Just spins around and around and around...S sinuslinus said:
It's not gripping in the hole as it needs to; it takes some force at the beginning for them to start twisting behind the plate. Now you have a big hole there, not good. Put it in again, but not all the way to the bottom, use pliers to hold against it and pull it with the driver so it starts to expand. You might have to hold against it a bit, but you'll notice if you're a little careful and feel it.peterwesterlund said:
