Now I'm probably asking the world's dumbest question, but I can live with that.

In the basement, I have a wooden floor with 10 cm of styrofoam and a type of Platon mat underneath. I don't want to seal with baseboards because I want humid air to be able to ventilate out. I found something called ventilated baseboards (see images), but I can't figure out if they will help me in this case? In what way do they actually ventilate? It seems to me that they will seal downward just as much as a regular baseboard, or am I thinking wrong?

They have a cut-through groove at regular intervals in the "fold"/groove, on the back side parts of the list are sawed off from the cut-through groove all the way down,
