Hello!

The house was built in the 30s, and since then they have drilled "through" the ceiling to pull pipes, etc.

Now I want to even out the ceiling and paint it white. What material should I use to fill in these craters that are relatively deep?

Grateful for help :)

  • Old ceiling with pipes exposed and large holes from drilling, showing damage that needs repair to prepare for painting.

Gipsputs is good for that.

Gypsum plaster is good for that.
Thank you.

Layer by layer, or can I apply it all at once?

You can apply it thickly, but since it's on the ceiling, there's a risk that the own weight might cause it to sag. It's easier to apply multiple layers than to sand.

Moisten the concrete beforehand so the plaster adheres better.

Good luck.
