I need to gain a better understanding of how to fix the walls in the basement part of the house.

I've had a company come in to insulate and pour a new slab, and I will take on the task of fixing the walls myself.

When I started tearing down the old vinyl wallpaper, I realized there was loose plaster in several places as it crumbled more and more as I removed the wallpaper.

The house is from the 1940s, by the way.

What should I use to repair the walls, does Weber wallplaster rapid work?

I would also gladly appreciate a brief explanation of how thick a layer I can apply and if it needs watering, etc.

Crumbling plaster wall with peeling paint and visible damage, located in the basement of a 1940s house, showing an area needing repair and renovation. Damaged wall with peeling vinyl wallpaper revealing crumbly plaster underneath; part of a renovation project in a 1940s house to repair degraded wall surfaces.

Thank you very much in advance for all the advice! :)

Did you get a response? I'm going to do the same job myself but can't make sense of all the different combinations of products that everyone advocates.
