Hi!
I want to build something according to the sketch I uploaded. I'm not a pro and when I found Havsta at IKEA, the cabinets fit so well that I decided to use them and just modify them a bit.

I'll probably have a bunch of questions during the process, but my first question is—how do I hang Havsta glass-door cabinets on the wall? It's not recommended to do so... but it should be possible to arrange, right? Do I need to reinforce the cabinets? Thanks!

You probably need to have a list/regel on the wall that the cabinets rest on. Then attach them at the top to the wall with some solution using angle brackets. If you plan to have a decorative molding under the cabinets, like https://www.ikea.com/se/sv/p/lerhyttan-dekorlist-profilerad-kant-ljusgra-90352371/ then your list/regel won't be noticeable. A decorative molding might still be needed to hide the underside of the cabinets that are not meant to be visible?

If you're planning to have a decorative molding under the cabinets, like [link], then your strip/bracket won't be noticeable. You might need the decorative molding anyway to cover the underside of the cabinets that aren't meant to be visible.
Thanks for the response!

Great idea with the bracket underneath for the cabinets to rest on. Do you mean that I should cover that bracket with decorative molding? That also sounds like a good idea but I don't quite understand how it would cover the underside of the cabinets? Wouldn't the molding end up being quite deep?

Would it be possible to kind of build the cabinets into some sort of frame that is attached to the ceiling instead?

No, my question was if you are going to have a decorative strip on the underside of the cabinet, see the pictures in the IKEA link. Then a wall strip is visually hidden.

Everything is possible.....
However, remember that a well-filled display cabinet can get quite heavy.

Ah right! Then you could actually have a proper rail against the wall and then have a base around under the entire cabinet that covers the rail? Then you should also be able to attach some kind of bottom?

You don't need to cover the stud. Paint it the same color as the trim/cabinets. And with trim around the cabinets, no bottom is needed.

Considering that it will get very heavy.. Do you think one beam for the cabinet to rest on + angle brackets is enough? Or can it be reinforced further?

Thank you!!
