I have an old shed that I plan to insulate. The work naturally includes the floor as well. The shed is built on sills. The previous owner has somehow cast a base underneath that is only a few centimeters thick.
A carpenter recommended that I first lay Platon and then a joist with 60 cc with foam insulation in between. After that, chipboard on top of this.
Questions
1. How is the Platon mat laid out? Is it important that all seams are tight?
2. Should it be folded up against the edges?
3. Should it be attached to the base in any way or just "lie"?
4. Can the joist rest on the Platon mat then, or will it be damaged?
5. Do I need beams if the base allows it? I recall seeing examples of floors where the chipboard rests directly on the foam. Does it hold up? Won't it be unstable?
Best regards, P.
