If I am to install corner beads, how do I do it correctly? Which part of the drywall should be facing the corner, the straight or the beveled edge, so to speak? What do I fasten the corners with? Regular drywall screws?
You install a corner reinforcement either with a strip type like this http://dalapro.se/files/DalaPro/Library/Brochures/NoCoatFolder_4-sidig.pdf or a metal track. Screws as usual.

isn't the paper strip also made for installing in interior corners?
I've never done it myself as I just wrap the wallpaper around the inner corners.
I placed the drywall with the recess towards the corner, in order to be able to plaster over the metal track without having to plaster a meter to the side.. don't know if it's right or not but it worked for me.

It doesn't matter, the sheets end up as they do, if it's a whole sheet, you have the recess as jkarlberg writes, and if it's a cut sheet, there's a small edge on the iron that you still follow with the putty knife, and then it becomes a bit wider with putty.
No with glue nowadays or putty earlier, a special tool was used which they fixed these with, but it costs a fortune and is apparently no longer considered reliable. But don't screw it, otherwise you will have to apply putty both thickly and widely.

PL 400 is excellent for everything but might be a bit overkill for these metal corners, but if you have it at home, go ahead. Otherwise, there are cheaper and equally suitable mounting/setting adhesives for the purpose.
